Have you wondered how people can bounce out of bed in the early morning hours to tackle a workout before heading to work or school? It’s not always easy, but there are tricks you can implement to transform into a morning person!

1. Wake up more quickly. When your alarm clock goes off you’re faced with the first decision you’ll need to make for the day. Would you rather wake up now with time for a healthy breakfast and a morning workout, or hit snooze, just delaying the inevitable? The truth is, waking up can be tough for many people. By getting out of bed when the alarm clock goes off, you only have to wake up once, instead of each time the snooze alarm blares for the rest of the morning.
2. Consistency is key. A consistent bed time and wake up time can help your body fall into a consistent sleep cycle. It may be easy for some people to manage this during the week, but it is often harder to maintain during the weekend. Consistency is ultimately what makes the mornings easier to face. Not only do you fall asleep more quickly when your body expects a consistent bedtime, but you may find that you sleep much deeper at night, allowing for a more pleasant, and consistent, wake up experience.
3. Have a plan before you fall asleep. People that enjoy mornings most and maximize the predawn hours, do so with a plan the night before. They have planned their breakfast, laid out workout clothes, and removed any obstacle that may thwart the morning plan. Even just searching for the right socks in a dark bedroom may be reason enough for most people to get back into bed and forgo the new morning habit. Instead, take a few minutes before you go to bed to lay out whatever you need for your morning routine.
4. Choose a morning workout you love. If mornings are hard for you, planning an early morning workout that you enjoy can help prepare you mentally for an early morning alarm. FitClub makes it easy to find a group exercise class in the early morning hours and you might find that the class of your choice is less crowded in the mornings, allowing you to explore and move through your workout in your own way.
5. Have more time in the evenings to unwind. If setting your alarm for an early hour stresses you out, try focusing on how much more free time you will have in the evening if you conquer your workout before work. You can plan activities with friends, stay late at work if needed, or spend more quality time with your family when you conquer your workout while most of the world is asleep.
