Whether you were injured, taking a break, or have just been away from FitClub for a stretch, what matters now is that you’re recommitted to a healthier life.  As much as we may want to dive back into fitness and attack it aggressively, easing back into fitness can be a smarter, healthier decision.  Ready to get back into the groove and start hitting your workout goals?  FitClub has three ways to ease back into fitness the right way.

  1. Make a goal to be consistent. Too much, too hard, too soon can leave you sore, injured or completely burned out. Instead, if you’ve been away from fitness for some time, the smarter move is to make consistency your goal.  Introducing your body back into fitness after some time away can be challenging.  Right now, consistent workouts at FitClub can help you build up your mental and physical strength.  Start slowly, listen to your body, and ramp up the intensity only when you feel your body responding to your first few workouts.

  2. Do workouts that make you feel good. When you’re coming back after a break, you can indulge yourself in order to build consistency.  Finding a class, workout, or activity that you enjoy at FitClub is easy with the variety available.  This is the time to try new workouts to see what feels good to your body and entertains your mind.  Building consistency is much easier when you have a workout that you look forward to doing everyday.  If you’ve struggled to like working out in the past, this is your chance for a fresh start of rediscovery.  Try a group exercise class, spend some time in downward dog during Yoga, or learn to swim. You might be able to lose the reasons that you took a break from FitClub and find pure joy in a healthier, more active lifestyle.  Not sure where to start?  FitClub’s team of professional trainers can help introduce you to workouts in a safe and efficient maner.

  3. Fuel yourself appropriately. When you step back into fitness for the first time after a break, it’s a good chance to reevaluate your diet. Are you fueling yourself for comfort with junk food or unhealthy meals or are you fueling yourself for the physical demands of exercise. Reassessing your relationship with food is a perfect addition to a brand new workout regimen.  The calories you take in will determine how your workout will feel and ultimately whether you see success on the scale.  Making smarter food choices, adding healthy fruits and vegetables, and being mindful of your portion sizes can make your workouts seem easier and make exercise an easier habit to adopt.
